I'm back home in RockVegas after attending the Adobe Tech Summit in New Delhi (more on that in a later post). Because of all the time lost in travel and spotty internet connections, I'm fighting to keep my head above a sea of emails. And No, the unread messages do not include any of the lists I'm on, those are honest-to-goodness, 'we needed a reply yesterday' emails. If you are one of those, I promise I'll get to you soon (by the end of the weekend at the latest).

On a sidenote: starting on Monday I'm going to be starting a series of posts that cover a lot of the ColdFusion/Flex/AIR demos that I've been using. I get a steady stream of requests from people asking for my sample code, whether for internal demos of their own or just for learning. Previously, I've handed out a large (40MB+) zip file. Moving forward I'm going to bundle each demo up with a an explanation/overview and the accompanying PDF presentation.

Many thanks to Laura for a recent update she made to Mango Blog that's allowed me to customize my posts even better (meaning I can seamlessly include attachments inline with my entries). One of these days I'll post some of the plugins I've written for Mango. I _really_ like the way Laura implemented extensibility into Mango Blog, I feel like I've got complete control to do whatever I want without overwriting the source (viva cfimport!). I'm really looking forward to attending her sessions at cf.objective() and Webmaniacs

Hi Adam!
I am glad you got the update working and I am very happy that you like Mango :)
I am very interested in seeing the plugins you created, particularly the one for including attachments, since that is something that is still missing in Mango.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at cf.objective()!

Welcome back Adam. Did you enjoy the summit? I just looked at MangoBlog and it looks superb. Wondering, whether I could use it in one of my projects.

So how was the conference? I actually have a close friend in New Dheli, and he often complains of the same type of spotty internet connections. Guess it's due to the massive population? Are they all online at once, or what!?

Anyway, I know this post is a bit older, but glad to see you back. I'm sure you were quite busy with all those messages!

All the best!

To the commenter above, my brother is on a project in a town close to ND - and his connection is fine in his hotel room (most of the time), but when he goes to the office that he works at, he often has problems. I agree in that it's probably the massive population there all surfing at the same time or something.

Anyway, to the poster, glad to see you're back!

To the others that talked about it...India connections, for the most part, are pretty crappy!

Depending on what neighborhood you live in...pretty much dictates the connection you get. Out in the country - forget about it!

I don't know anything about connections from India, but I spent some time in Holland, and the connections there are the fastest I've ever had the pleasure of using. I don't know why, but I only wish we had that kind of power back in the States.

Heh, my life was much better before email, it was another thing sitting down every morning opening letters. Even though you could get quite a lot of those too.
