I've been a web developer all of my life. With the exception of a short stint as a Starbucks barista, every job since I was 18 has been related to building a better internet. Last week I announced that I would be stepping down as ColdFusion Product Manager and taking on a new challenge at Adobe. I'm happy to share that my new role will be as the Flash Builder Product Manager.

Back in September of 2010, Alison Huselid and I traveled to San Francisco to present our plans for ColdFusion X, ColdFusion Builder 2 and the future of the ColdFusion business. Our plan was overly ambitious and aggressive. Our goal was to aim high and let Adobe upper management cut us down to size. To our delight, we got the full and complete sign-off from upper management!

It's official. I'm the new Product Manager for ColdFusion and Bolt. After a considerable amount of internal debate, I decided to step up and take the lead of the product I love so much. I don't mean to sound sappy, but I'm incredibly humbled that the rest of the ColdFusion team trusts me enough to fulfill this role. I'm honored to follow in the footsteps of people I admire.

I Got Hit By A Car

I'm not 100% sure when I wrote this entry as I vaugley remember actually writing it. I wrote it while recoving in a London hospital after being hit by a car. I guess I'm just posting it as record and a reminder. Always look both way when you're crossing the street.

Because after Sunday, rmaxim at whatever dot com will be a thing of the past! We've been together for so long, but I don't think this whole wedding thing really hit me until I saw her using a new email address... with my last name!
